Find out more about the making jewelry - Two hundred kilometers of pure gold

I hopes to post a little series called "Learn about the jewelry making" continue, which I design jewelry for quite some time on my own blog -verenabrack.blogspot.com have created. Periodically, I try here my knowledge as a goldsmith with all interested parties to share jewelry. Be it the knowledge of precious stones, metals, machinery, or just the answer to the question: What exactly does the stamp on my ring? There are so many interesting things from the world of jewelry discovered. When you have some questions to a goldsmith, the you would like a reply, they simply leave at the end of this contribution in the Comments, I will gladly answer it in one of the next posts for you.

Would You KNOW? called pure gold or 200 km

pure gold, the goldsmith is pure gold, is very soft and stretchy unexpectedly -

a 100g bar of fine gold. The immense stretch of pure gold is shown by the fact that the amount can be pulled by a single gram of fine gold into a wire of two kilometers. From 100 g of fine gold could be so, to paraphrase Adam Riese, produce a wire of 200 km. A wire from Munich Stuttgart also. Crazy idea, right?
